Reese's Minis vs. Chipolte Bowl
So tonight my sister and I discovered that both of these items are both equal to 10 points plus values. CRAZY!
It is all about choices here people. We have the power to choose what we put in our bodies, and those choices will cause us to be healthy or unhealthy.

Week #2 = Vacation
Week #2: I have gained 3 pounds! Eek!
Well, the gain is only contributed to my own choices this weekend. Tuesday through Thursday I counted points and was right on track. By Thursday evening though, I had used ALL of my weekly points! And I was going on vacation! So I thought to myself, I will be good and only eat my daily points and stay on plan....that went right out the window!
I went up to Door County, WI. I had never been before, but I will go back! It was a BEAUTIFUL little county, surrounded by water. LOVED it! They had NO corporate run buisness', only mom'n'pop shops! It was great! So you know the food was wonderful! There was fudge and cheese galore! Wine tastings, bread tastings. Smoke houses, BBQ joints, and lots of fish. Wait, did I mention the fudge?! :)
So needless to say, I gained 3 pounds from this wonderful weekend get away. (I was just glad it wasn't more!)
I did go to my weigh in on Tuesday, and I am back on track this week. There are only 8 more weeks until my 25th birthday and Thanksgiving! My goal is to have lost a total of 20 pounds by my Birthday! I had a little set back, but I know that if I put my mind to it, I can do it.
See you next week!

Week # 1 of Starting Over
OMG! So this week I am SIX pounds!!! So excited!
Last week, I rejoined Weight Watchers (WW), and I'm so glad I did! Within 3 days I started to feel better and had more energy just because I was eating better! I barely ate out, and when I did it was Subway. I made all my meals ate home, and baked...a lot.
Over the weekend I left my cell phone in the bathroom and someone swiped it! I was so upset! I've been using it as my tracker and my food scanner when I go grocery shopping. I felt so lost at Meijer without it! Thankfully I have a new one coming to the house today or tomorrow and then I will not feel so naked. LOL.
This week at my WW meeting we talked about being a Weekend Warrior, and how to stay on plan over the weekend. I don't really have a problem with the weekends now because I don't go out much. But when the holidays roll around, that's when it goes down hill. There's Halloween, My Birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years....all within a few weeks of each other! So we talked about several ways to beat over indulging.
First, the buffet is NOT your friend, so don't hang around it like it is!
Second, track! Make sure you are writing down EVERYTHING you eat....even if you don't, it still counts.
And third, do not deprive yourself. If you want a cookie, have a cookie! Just make sure you account for it in your daily (or weekly) points. By depriving yourself you will just eat everything else, and in the end you will ending up eating that cookie anyways because nothing else was satisfying.'
It was a great first week, I hope to keep this momentum going!

Starting Over
My name is Heather and I am a food addict. I have been an
off again on again dieter for some time now. My most recent relapse was almost
a year ago, but today (September 11) I have chosen to hold myself accountable
again.
I am 51 pounds away from final weight loss goal, and I am
51.4 pounds down from where I began my journey. The halfway point is always the
hardest for me. I feel like I have come so far and should not give up, but I
still have so far to go. My mind is in a constant battle with itself. However,
today, I chose to take that first step by allowing myself to be held accountable
by friends and family by sharing, once again, my journey with those that love
me most.
I rejoined Weight Watchers this morning and have weighed in
at a number much higher than what I have seen in a long time. I know, though,
with strength and determination I will chisel away at that number and watch the
scale go lower and lower each week.
My starting weight today: 225
My goal weight: 174
Total lost since my journey started: 51.4
Pounds to go: 51
My goal weight: 174
Total lost since my journey started: 51.4
Pounds to go: 51
I ask that you would join with me and help encourage and
lift me up throughout this journey. I could not have done it without the many people
who have stood by me and encouraged me throughout this process. Thank you in
advance.

Once More
Hello to all of my friends and family! It has been a number of months since my last post, and even longer since I was last counting points and working toward my goal! You will however, be pleased to know that I have once again started down the path to my ultimate weight loss goal!
In April I had hip surgery and was out of commission for two months! And in January they had stopped me from all exercise. And well before that, in October/November, I had stopped counting points! And over that time, because I had learned to change my eating habits (change your thinking, change your mind) I was able to only fluctuate between 208 and 218 pounds.
A few weeks ago, I was in Texas for training for my new job, and they provided everything; including the food! By the end of it I felt so bloated and gross I knew I had to make a change and fast. So this past Monday I started counting my points once again. Although I have not yet re-joined the weight watchers meetings (which I soon plan to do), I have had the support of my family and friends to make it through this first week.
On Monday I weighed in at 215 and as of today I weigh 210.4! I think that that is a pretty great start!
I hope that you will continue to read I as I commit to start posting blogs and pictures, and walking through this journey once more. Thank you for your love and support!

Laberal Terror
It is official; I will be having surgery on my left hip.
Last September after a 5k race one beautiful Sunday afternoon, I noticed that my left hip was bothering me. I figured that because I had just ran I was just sore. So I took a pain reliever and put some heat on it. That seemed to do the trick....for a few days anyways. I was sick sometime in October and decided to get some medicine from the doctor. While I was there I causally mentioned that my hip had been bugging me since my run. My doctor quickly suggested that it was nothing more than a torn tendon and it would heal on its own.
Two months later, after experiencing increasing pain, I set an appointment in December to see my Doctor specifically for the affected area. After running a series of standard tests and xrays, she gave me a number of pain meds and decided to send me to a orthopedic specialist for further testing.
January has now rolled around and I am finally able to see this specialist. He then runs the same standard tests my first doctor did, and determined that it was nothing more than Bursitis, and wrote a prescription for three weeks of physical therapy twice a week. (This was when all physical activity had to stop due to extreme chronic pain) After only two weeks I was in more pain that ever and not even the vicoden was helping! That Friday night I called the doctors office and was basically in tears. He sent a prescription over to Target for STRONGER meds, and sent a referral to Edwards for an MRI.
The following Monday I was able to get in at 7 in the morning for my MRI; thankfully my mom drove me to the hospital that day. After changing and waiting for what seemed an eternity, I was taken back to have the dye injected into my hip joint. First they took xrays and numbed me with Lidocan. After seeing the next needle I should have been knocked out! With that really LARGE needle they injected me with the contrast dye and wheeled me to the MRI. Once inside the MRI, I quickly drifted off into a peaceful sleep, being lulled by the humming sound of the MRI machine.
About 45 minutes to an hour later, they woke me up and wheeled me back to the waiting/changing area. Upon arriving I told my mom, as I sat down, that I did not feel so well. I stood up to get my things from my locker and quickly became very dizzy and unstable. I felt like I was going to vomit. As the blood quickly drained from my face, I reached for the trash can and sat down. I was dry-heaving and getting no better. All of a sudden I began to sweat prefusly. Trying to escape from my sweatshirt, a nurse passing by say the painic and asked if I was ok. I just shook my head "no". She then called for back up and they brought in the crash cart, and cold compresses. As they laid me on the bench and applied the cold compresses, they began attaching wires to me, everywhere. My heart rate had dropped to the low 50's, and my temprature had risen significantly. After about 25 minutes of this caoticness, my tempature had come down and my heart rate reached a normal level. I was finally able to sit up and drink some juice.
The following morning I had an appointment with my ortho doctor. He went over the MRI's with me and explained that I have a tear in my Labrum (the labrum is basically a thin layer of cartiledge that keeps your femur from coming out of socket). He then told me I needed to have another hip injection to insure that the pain I was experiencing was really from this tear.
So the following week I returned to the hospital where I had my MRI. As soon as I walked into the waiting/changing area, one of the nurses said, "Oh, you're the girl who passed out last week". Why yes, yes I am. LOL. (Even the doctor doing the injection knew me by that!) They took me back to the same room where I had the first injection. This time the needles were bigger and there were four, not two. The third needle injection went straight into my hip joint, and as soon as he pushed the medication through the tears began to roll. It was as if someone was playing tug-of-war with my thigh muscle while someone else lit it on fire! The fourth injection was no better than the first.
Within days I was feeling like my old self again. This painful procedure actually worked! But this just meant that the pain was actually coming from my hip joint and I would actually need surgery to fix the problem. It was a wonderful pain free week though! (To bad it had to come to an end! :\)
The following week I was sent to yet another doctor; this time it was the surgeon. After he looked at my MRI, he continued to explain the surgery and the recovery process to me. This information was more in detail than what I had read on the internet, and he actually began to scare me. I had to take a few deep breaths to keep from getting a panic attack. He sent me for more xrays, which did not reveal anything good. He then pointed out that one of my bones was too big and while he was in there he would need to grind some of it down. Once I left the doctors office, and sat in my car, I began to cry. I was offically scared at this point. It was so much information at one time, I felt extremly overwhelmed.
I did not schedule the surgery that day, I decided to wait. I needed to calm down, talk to some people and get my thoughts together. After creating a very detailed list of questions I called the surgical coordinator at the doctors office. She then instructed me that I needed to come in one more time for a presurgical appointment with the doctor. Apparently he is a very busy man and I was unable to get in until this Wednesday (two weeks later).
Since September I have been experiencing this pain. Somedays are better than others, but nights prove to be the worst. I can be fine one minute and the next be doing something as simple as putting on my shoe and have pain shoot through my hip. Its as if there is a knife stuck inside me, and one small motion digs it in deeper, and deeper. The pain has spread through to the side of my hip so much so that I cannot lay on my left side without pain. If I so much as get my foot caught in the sheets I feel the need to scream in agony. There is clicking and popping, as if my femur wants to escape its home in my socket. The sharp, burning sensation pentitrates so deep nothing can "touch" the pain. The pain comes and goes as it pleases. I never know when it will rear its ugly head. This is why I cannot wait until I am able to have this tear fixed. Then maybe I will be able to return to my normal daily activities, and not be stuck wearing the same shoes day in and day out.

To Choose or Not to Choose?
![]() |
| Great Inspiring Quote! |
Okay, now that I have given myself that pep-talk, we can move on to what I really have to say! :)
During our lives journeys we all encounter obstacles, things to celebrate, the ups and downs, but some people are successful, while yet others are failing time and again. Some can have a very positive out look on life, and others see the glass as half empty. It makes you wonder why that is, right? And we've all been on either side of the fence at one point or another; I know I have. But it all comes down to a choice. Will we choose to be successful or will we choose to fail?
Everyday, every hour, every moment we have choices to make. Some are as simple as choosing a tooth paste, while others are more difficult; like moving out of the country. But no matter what it is, we all have choices to make, and losing weight is one of them. Yes, losing weight is a choice and it can be a difficult one at that. For instance, for a number of years I choose to live and eat a certain way, which brought me a negative out come (gaining weight and losing control of my life). Then one day I decided to change my thinking and chose to eat and live a healthier lifestyle, bringing a positive outcome (gaining control and losing weight). Each of those decisions involved many smaller choices day in and day out; these small choices are what make up our lifestyles. And when we choose to make a lifestyle change, each decision can effect the outcome positively or negatively.
Let me rewind for a moment. Toward the end of October 2010, I made the choice to walk away from my weight loss path and began to make poor choices again. It was the holidays, and my holidays have always been centered around food. So therefore I chose to eat without taking into consideration how far I have come on my weight loss journey and how close I was to the finish line. Now we fast forward back to today, and I have to choose whether or not I will jump back on the path or if I will completely turn around and fall back into my old pattern of destruction.
You will be happy to know that I have chosen to jump back onto the weight loss path. My journey isn't complete, nor has it been ruined by my poor choices. I have only learned and grown from this "set back" and I will continue to learn and grow (only emotionally and mentally!) as I continue on this weight loss journey. You can only fail if you don't get up, dust yourself off and try again.keep on trucking.
I will be taking it one day at a time, literally. I went to the grocery store tonight and only purchased enough food for the whole day tomorrow. And I will go to the store tomorrow and get only enough food for the next day. I figure that breaking it down day by day, until I can get back into the full swing of things, is a great start to getting back to where I belong! And I will choose to make smart and healthy choices each time.
How will you choose?

Thoughts
I'm mad. I'm angry. I'm disappointed. I'm hurt. I'm sad. I'm frustrated. I'm upset. I'm confused. I'm irritated. I'm grossed out. I'm overwhelmed. "At who?” is what I'm sure you're wondering. At myself; att me, at my stinking thinking and my actions; or lack there of.
Since just before Halloween I have gone back to my old eating habits and my old ways of thinking. Only its gotten worse since the New Year. I eat non-stop for no reason, and I get mad at myself, say I'll do better tomorrow or next week, but I don’t! I have continued on this constant binge of food for nearly three months now. And just as before I am denying I have a problem to everyone who wants to help. I tell them, "I'm fine", "I can eat this", etc. Knowing that I am not fine and I shouldn’t eat my fourth bowl of ice cream!
I don't want to go back to where I was. I don’t want to feel how I felt. And I certainly don’t want to look how I looked last year. But unless I get my act together that's exactly what where I'll end up! And at this rate it could come faster than I think!
I'll tell you what though; I don't feel like I can do this. I feel weak and broken. I, honestly, don't feel beautiful anymore! I feel the way I did 12 months ago. And when I look in the mirror I see the same'ol girl lost in the pain of her past; choosing to eat away the problem. I see someone who cannot control her urges.
In the morning I'm actually going to go to weigh-in. I'm nervous as all get out. I do not really care to see how much weight I have gained. But I suppose that is a step in the right direction. I have already gained 6 pounds (plus the 4 I've lost again) since I got off track and its been two weeks since my last weigh-in; so I'm scared to see those numbers.
And on top of all this, I'm not allowed to do any physical activity! I messed up my hip back in October and haven’t been able to recover. So I went to my doctor, who referred me to the orthopedic doctor, who sent me to physical therapy. It had been two weeks and it wasn’t getting any better so I demanded an MRI, and that showed that I have a Labral Tear in my left hip. And today I had 4 different injections (talk about pain) to see if I will need surgery. SURGERY! That doesn’t help the situation with food either. I'm an emotional eater and I'm mad that I can’t run, let alone do the Chicago Marathon like I wanted!
I'm just a ball of emotions and I'm at a loss of what to do. I'm hoping that things will turn around real soon.

My Goals, My Dreams and My Aspirations
If I could paint the future and color each day of my life in radiance and boldness, then this is how I would predict 2011 to look for me...my goals, my dreams, and my aspirations.
First, I will have the last of my debt paid off! Causing ALL harassing debt collectors to stop waking me up at 6am!! Then I will begin to rebuild my credit.
Secondly, I will have hit my goal weight and achieved lifetime status at weight watcher! I will be in such impeccable shape because I will have had a personal trainer and will have broken all of my terrible eating habits!
Having achieved the above goal, I will then apply for AND get the job as a weight watchers leader due to not only my commitment and my positive energy, but also my ability to motivate and inspire others!!
Thirdly, not only will I be in impeccable shape because of my eating habits and the help of a personal trainer, but also because I will be training for and will complete the Chicago Marathon in October. As well as a number of other races throughout the year.
Fourthly, I will have re-enrolled in school and have started on the path to becoming a paramedic. I will have completed all requirements to be and EMT-B by the end of the year, and signed up for the EMT national exam. Also I will outline and design the next step in my schooling career, whether it be a registered dietian or a personal trainer. Or both! :)
Anyway. Those are just a few of the things I want to accomplish this year. And by the grace of God I will.

Rewind and Reflect
Its crazy to think that yet another year has come and is soon to be over! 2010 has proved itself to be quite a year! A fruitful and life changing year. Although this year came with its own challenges, overall I'm blessed and grateful for everything that took place.
I have learned more about who I am and who I am meant to be than I have at any other point in my life. I have walked through the deepest valleys and have danced on the highest of mountain tops. And through it all I have been blessed to draw closer to God than ever before.
I just want to share with you really quickly some of the highlights that I have experienced this year. These moments have been ones that have brought great pleasure and a sense of accomplishment.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported me throughout this year and this journey. It could not be possible without you and your words of encouragements. I pray that you will continue to be inspired by commitment and that you will continue to stand with me throughout 2011. Many blessings and Happy New Year!

The Turkey and All it's Friends...
Happy Thanksgiving!
Two days ago, (actually Thanksgiving) I woke up early and ran the Naperville Turkey Trot 5k! I ran it in 38 minutes and 50 seconds! Thats an improvement from my last 5k by 5 minutes and 56 seconds! And, since I have been working and rehearsing for my upcoming play, I havent been running! I was so,so happy to have made this improvement on top of running the first mile without stoping!
It was freezing (thankfully not snowing!) but totally worth it! I knew it would be cold so I went to the Nike sotre the night before the run and bought a new hat and gloves! And my friend Kevin ran the race with me too...well he ran ahead of me, but it was nice starting the race out together!
After the race I felt so energized I could have kept going! But instead I went home to make my first Thanksgiving dinner! It was great! And took most of the reciepes from the Weight Watchers website! We had everything! Although my favorite was the 3pt pumpkin pie! :)

It's so weird to look back and think that a year ago at this time I was in no condition to be running, let alone not having the will power or motivation to even attempt to. It is a huge accomplishment for me to have even participated in this race. And even more encouraging to know that I am only about 2 minutes and 40 seconds away from having a 10 minute mile (which I havent done since 2003)!
After the race I felt so energized I could have kept going! But instead I went home to make my first Thanksgiving dinner! It was great! And took most of the reciepes from the Weight Watchers website! We had everything! Although my favorite was the 3pt pumpkin pie! :)
Once we finished dinner unfortunatly I had to go to bed to get in a few zzz's before the big "Midnight Madness" Sale at the mall I work in. I took a 3 hour nap before beginning my long night 9pm - 9am. One day I will no longer have to work retail and I will never have to be an abused labour ever again (a girl can dream cant she?).
Looking ahead to this next week, I am excited and nervous for all of the events that will be happening throughout this week. First off, I doubt if I will have any gym time this week because I have dress rehearsal for my upcoming show everyday. Secondly, Weight Watchers is changing their entire point system. And thirdly, I do have 3 shows this weekend. On top of that I have to work, and I have family coming into town. Bah, what a week. Like I said though, I am very excited, just have to take it one step at a time so I fight the nervousness.

Happy Birthday to ME!
Every year around this time I take a few moments out to reflect on the past year and to dream for the year to come. I take a day and thank the Lord for keeping me safe and for blessing me. And this year seems to have brought about the most change in quite some time!
On November18, 2009, just two days before my birthday, I was T-Boned. This seemingly freak accident began a sequence of life altering, God moments. The following month to two months brought about changes that would not only affect my immediate future, but the years to come as well.
On November18, 2009, just two days before my birthday, I was T-Boned. This seemingly freak accident began a sequence of life altering, God moments. The following month to two months brought about changes that would not only affect my immediate future, but the years to come as well.
Last December I had the opportunity to attend a conference in Kansas City. Knowing I was bound for this event in only a matter of days, I decided to talk to God. As I stood in my bathroom, I told God that He could have all of me; that He could do whatever needed to be done. That is always a dangerous prayer to pray. God always listens, and boy did He answer.
During the conference my life was changed on the inside, sparking a wave of change on the outside. January hen rolled around quickly and I started thinking that if my insides are going to change, so should my outsides. That’s when I began researching the Lap Band procedure. Thankfully my doctor suggested a different route.
So on February 9, 2010, I officially joined Weight Watchers. I also officially began my weight loss journey, as well as the journey to self discovery.
Here is a picture of my 22nd Birthday....
Here is a picture of my 23rd Birthday....
What a difference just one year can make! :)
I have discovered so much about myself on this journey I have been on and I am thrilled to continue down this path I am on. There is never a dull moment and it seems the more I am challenged the more I am able to learn and grown in every aspect of life.
A few nights ago I took a poll on my Weight Watchers Bulletin Board about what type of cake I should make...and the over whelming choice was to make a cake that was home and not quite so WW friendly point wise. So I decided to make this.....
It was amazing and worth every point! And I only had one normal size piece! :) I only wish you could have seen and tasted this bad boy in person! Even better.....
Also I would just like to take a quick moment to say thank you for all of your support and encouragement throughout this journey. Without you on my support team this could be a very difficult accomplishment. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Picture This....
....The moment has arrived. One that I have anxtiously awaiting for months now. A day that I will remember as one of the greatest milestones in my life.
I slip out of my shoes, and step up to the scale. I jump up quickly, overwhelmed by excitment, happiness, pride, and gratefullness. This is it! I have prepared for it, I have worked hard for it, and now its time.
The receptionist reads the numbers, 1-7-4. 174. ONE SEVENTY FOUR!!
I scream with excitment, and everyone turns to look. I did it! I DID IT! I reached my goal weight! I, Heather Dabrowski, have reached my goal weight!
When I close my eyes, I can see it, I can feel it, I can almost reach out and touch it. Oh how I anticipate that day with such longing. Everything within me wants to see this dream become a reality, and I'm only 33 pounds away from holding that acomplishment in my hands!
After I step off the scale, and do my happy dance of course, I may just find a roof top to shout it from! :)
No, in all seriousness, I will be so happy I'm sure I might bust! The first thing I will do after hitting goal will more than likely be to purchase an entire new waredrobe! Then probably go back to work and continue on this healthly road I'm traveling, because it doesnt stop there.

Change
At the start of my weight loss journey I was weak, obese and held a poor, skewed vision of who I was. Now, only nine months later, I have lost 66 pounds and have gained so much more. With only a little over 30 pounds to lose, I am well on my way to achieving my weight loss goal. As well as becoming a more confident, healthier version of me.
As I retrace the steps of my weight loss journey, one major change that has occurred is my belief in myself. The belief that not only can I lose the weight that has for so long hindered me, but the belief that I am worth making the change. And once that far off dream became a reality I became a passionate fighter, determined to conquer anything that stood in the way of obtaining the ultimate goal; change.
Change that for many years had been knocking at my door, but I had shunned. Change that would make me a stronger woman. Change that would not only affect me and my own world, but a change that would inspire many in the world around me.
Joining Weight Watchers ® was not an attempt to put a band-aide over what was broken, but an opportunity to heal what had been shattered for so long. An opportunity that has led to many seemingly small changes that have led to one major difference. An opportunity to regain control of my destiny.

Content
Its been sometime since I've posted a blog about whats been going on.....
.....For like a month now I've been off track; not counting points, not making healthy choices, not getting in my exercise routine. And I cannot seem to get back on track. I've tried and been okay for a few days, making good choices and tracking....but then, I'm not sure what happens and I give up. I eat like a crazy person. Candy, pizza, McDonalds, a little of this, a little of that....I cant seem to stop!
At least this weekend I got in a little bit of exercise. Not much, but at least it was something. Ran a little Saturday and Sunday and took a walk on Saturday with my doggie. I hope that I can keep it up through out the week.
Last week I stayed on track enough to lose 3 point something pounds, but it was sheer luck. I'm hoping that this week I will be lucky enough to lose 1 pound. So much for reaching my goal of 75 pounds lost by my birthday (only 19 days away). That would mean I would have to lose 9 pounds in a little of 2 weeks! Yeah right!! I guess I shouldnt hold my breath.....
.....I dont know if its so much a lack of motivation, as a decrease in desire. Maybe I am just content with where I am, and how far I've come.

8 Ways NOT to Cheat on a Diet
Are you "cheating" on your weight loss plan? Learn some tips to help keep you on the straight and narrow.
"Stop!" screams your conscience as you swipe a handful of mini-candy bars from your co-worker's communal candy dish. If no one actually sees you take them then the calories don't really count, right? Some call it "cheating." Sneaking. Closet eating. But one of the reasons dieters "cheat" is that they're often so strict with themselves that they end up feeling deprived.
Remember that healthy eating includes lots of good choices with a few "naughty" ones as well. Devising some strategies to help you enjoy treats rather than "cheat" will help keep you on the straight and narrow. Here are some suggestions to try:
1. Plan for treats
Making sure you get to enjoy your favorite treats every once in a while will help you from feeling deprived. Pick a night each week when you can indulge in something decadent like a piece of chocolate mud cake. Give yourself permission to truly enjoy your dessert! Taking time to savor a treat is always more satisfying than gobbling it down with feelings of guilt or shame.
2. Put your pantry on a diet
If most of the foods in your house are healthy, then you're already halfway there. If you must have tempting foods around for a special occasion, store them out of sight or buy them at the last minute. On the big day, enjoy your favorite foods and send any leftovers home with your guests.
3. Choose your friends wisely
Beware of any "friend" who continually tries to coerce you into "just a cappuccino" which you know really means a cappuccino and a slice of carrot cake with frosting an inch thick. Put these friends on hold until you're feeling strong enough to say "no." Or suggest a different kind of get-together such as a walk in the park or an afternoon at the movies.
4. Count the cost as well as the calories
Allocate so many dollars per pound you plan to lose and save the money in a separate account or piggy bank. Or "pay" yourself so much every day you stick to your weight-loss plan. Then treat yourself to something fabulous like a new outfit or a day at a beauty spa.
5. Picture yourself
Find some not-so-flattering photos of yourself and place them strategically at prime temptation spots—the fridge, the cookie jar or in your desk drawer. That way you will be reminded of the positive changes you're trying to make to your life whenever you're tempted to overindulge.
6. Surround yourself with witnesses
Tell everyone you are changing your eating habits. Give them permission to remind you of your dedication to better health if they catch you transgressing. Make sure you have chosen friends who will support and encourage you. The last thing you need is someone who will try to trip you up.
7. Check up on yourself
Write down every single thing that passes your lips each day. If you often eat when you're upset or stressed, try to record this too. If you gobbled up a candy bar after arguing with your partner, you probably need to find alternative ways of coping with your moods. Next time try phoning a friend or going for a stress-relieving walk.
8. Keep a sense of proportion
We all slip up from time to time. We all forget our best resolutions and bend the rules. It's not the end of the world. The worst thing you can do is give in and say, "Well, I blew it. Let's forget it. I'm never going to succeed."
Now, that would really be cheating. Not just cheating on your diet, but cheating on yourself and your health as well.

Mini-Goal
So I have had a bit of a set back these last few weeks. And for some reason, have yet to grab a handle on things and get my head back into the game. SO! I have decided to set for myself a mini goal!
I would like to lose 3.4 pounds within the next 2 weeks (to put me under 210), and WHEN I do, I am going to purchase new around the ear headphones and an armband for my ipod! I think that it will help me also when I'm at the gym and when I'm running these 5 and 10k's this next month.
I'm know that I'm going to achieve this goal by tracking 100% this week (and in the weeks to come) and getting in as much exersice as possible.
So here's to getting my head screwed back on right! And getting my mind back into full weight-loss mode.
